Who We Are
I like the word "vision", but I also like the word "dream." As a pastor, coming up with a vision or mission statement was, quite frankly, confusing. Not in the sense of it being difficult, but I wondered why the huge stress in putting it down for all to see. I soon learned that it helps the entire church to rally behind the calling they believe God has given them as His people. Here at All Nations we believe that our calling is this:
"To make disciples that will live to glorify God above all else."
That's it. When a people hold God in the highest esteem, all other demands of the Christian will naturally follow and flow from that relationship.
It's one thing to have this wonderful dream, but how do we get there? It is this process called sanctification, but fleshed out I believe it can look something like this:
Grow + Give + Go = becoming and being a life long follower/disciple of Jesus
Grow = It is so important that we grow in maturity in our faith through the study of God's Word. This is done through Bible studies, personal devotions, Sunday messages, conferences, discipleship training, etc.
Give = It isn't enough that we know and learn about God and His truth, but the application of it. We want to see people serve and give to one another in their time, resources, and knowledge to those that make up the body of All Nations Church. This can be done through ministry opportunities (e.g. worship team, welcoming team, prayer team, etc.)
Go = Once again it isn't enough to be inward focused. We know the importance of being an impact where God has placed our church. We want to love and serve the community around us and be the salt and light of the earth! This can be accompished through ministries that focus on outreach and missions.
